Debt-GDP Ratio at Lowest Level since 1996

Debt-to-GDP ratio continued its downward trend to 42.1 percent from 44.7 in 2015. This is the lowest level since 1996. It comes despite the 2.3 percent increase in the national government’s outstanding debt to P6.09 trillion as of end-2016 from P5.95 trillion in 2015.
