Philippines Posts 6.8% GDP Growth in 2016

The Philippine economy expanded by 6.8 percent in 2016, well within the high end of government’s six- to seven-percent target for the year. It comes despite a weaker 6.6 percent growth in the fourth quarter. The increase was faster than the 5.9 percent expansion in 2015, but still short of the 7.2 percent record in 2013.
