Drilon Files Senate Bill Calling for Constitutional Convention

Sen. Franklin Drilon has filed a resolution in the Senate calling for a constitutional convention that would amend or even change the 1986 charter. This is in line with President Rodrigo Duterte’s campaign promise to adopt a federal system of government, as well as revise some of the constitution’s strict economic provisions. A similar bill was earlier filed in the House of Representatives by incoming Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez
